The Coastal style consists of everything that refers to the houses on the Ocean and finds its definition in color palettes ranging from the colors of sand to those of water. Based on the simplicity of the houses near the sea, it uses pastel color palettes: white and blue recall the color of water and foamy waves, but with some shades of green. Some coral spray, will make a space immediately become sophisticated and inspired by the summer.
Essential and luminous are the fundamental elements that define the interior: light leather sofas or covered chairs will immediately give the impression of being at home; but also armchairs, deckchairs, tables, and hammocks, which instill the idea of relaxation. Furniture does not necessarily have to have certain style canons, the important thing is to maintain simplicity in shapes and colors. Of course, the yield will be better if you use furniture or fabrics that recall the typical environments of the beach, such as the verandas by the sea, or the light linen curtains, which move swaying in the wind.
The materials that define this style are wood, wicker, rope and raffia, as well as natural fabrics such as linen and cotton. The textures are in marine style: striped or patterned from the shades of the ocean or the gray of the sand, in addition to the pure white natural. The cushions will increase the feeling of comfort and hospitality within a room.
The spacious rooms will be enriched with marine style accessories and decorative elements in rope, glass or canvas; even the paintings hanging on the walls will have to resume the same colors of the setting, but even the same subjects will have to tell the theme. Use wooden lanterns that give soft light, and decorative elements such as anchors, candles, stars and seahorses, shells, ships, pebbles with rounded shapes, smoothed by the sea.
Used as ornaments blue blown glass amphorae closed by cork stoppers, place maritime paintings on the walls, such as the typical compartments where you can see all the seafaring knots, bottles with both small sailing ships and parchments inside. Compose frames with shells and use sea knots to tie the curtains. If you want to exaggerate you could even replace the ladder handrail with a boat rope, and maybe paint every step of a different blue.
